Power or cooling failure in a data centre

The colocation providers supply power and cooling to the racks, with redundant feeds and generators. A failure beyond what they cover would stop the equipment in one suite for as long as the repair takes.

Measures

Accepted because the providers already carry redundant power and cooling, and a third site would cost more than the loss that an outage of one suite causes. The platform team reads the maintenance and test reports of the providers every year.
